Where's the key code located to program keys for my Yamaha E02 Genesis?

Hello! We've developed a VIN-based tool to help you get your key code for the Yamaha E02 Genesis. Check it out here: VIN Key Code Generator.

Waiting to see if this will work on my Yamaha E02 Genesis as well.

I’m also looking for how to retrieve the key code on a Yamaha E02 Genesis.

I tried this with my Yamaha E02 Genesis but still no luck. Any suggestions?

My Yamaha E02 Genesis is basically useless until I get this code. Fingers crossed.

Hoping someone can confirm this works for a newer Yamaha E02 Genesis.

🔑 Car Key & Fob FAQ

Common questions about key programming, fob issues, and replacement options

Key Fob Issues
Sometimes. Broken buttons can often be fixed by cleaning or replacing the button pad. Cracked cases can be glued. However, water damage or circuit board issues usually require complete fob replacement. Reprogramming is still needed for replacement fobs.
Key Fob Issues
Sometimes. Broken buttons can often be fixed by cleaning or replacing the button pad. Cracked cases can be glued. However, water damage or circuit board issues usually require complete fob replacement. Reprogramming is still needed for replacement fobs.
Key Tip: Always have at least two working keys to avoid expensive replacements
Cost & Options
Some comprehensive auto policies cover key replacement, often with a deductible. Homeowner's insurance may cover keys lost away from home. Always check your policy details - coverage varies widely. Claims may increase your rates.
Key Tip: Newer cars often require dealer programming for first key replacement
Security Systems
This means your car's immobilizer system can't read the key's transponder. Causes: dead key battery, damaged transponder chip, faulty car antenna ring around ignition, or system needs resetting. Try replacing the battery first.
Key Tip: Replace key fob batteries every 1-2 years as preventative maintenance
Cost & Options
You can buy fobs online, but: 1) Must match your exact model/year 2) Many still require professional programming 3) Cheap knockoffs may not work reliably. Some eBay/Amazon sellers offer programming instructions for DIY-friendly models.
Key Fact: Key fob batteries typically last 3-4 years with normal use
