Where do they get the key code to program Plymouth Acclaim keys at the dealer?

Hello! We've developed a VIN-based tool to help you get your key code for the Plymouth Acclaim. Check it out here: VIN Key Code Generator.

Would love to see a video version of this for a Plymouth Acclaim.

I tried this with my Plymouth Acclaim but still no luck. Any suggestions?

My Plymouth Acclaim won’t start without that code. Following this closely.

🔑 Car Key & Fob FAQ

Common questions about key programming, fob issues, and replacement options

Security Systems
This means your car's immobilizer system can't read the key's transponder. Causes: dead key battery, damaged transponder chip, faulty car antenna ring around ignition, or system needs resetting. Try replacing the battery first.
Key Programming
Professional key programming requires: diagnostic tools to access the immobilizer system, key code software, transponder programmers, and often proprietary manufacturer equipment. Some locksmiths and all dealers have these tools.
Lost Keys
Dealerships can often cut keys using your VIN, but will require proof of ownership. This only works for original factory keys - aftermarket or previously replaced locks won't match. The key will still need programming to start the car if it has a transponder.
Lost Keys
Costs vary widely: Basic keys: $50-$150, Transponder keys: $150-$300, Smart keys/fobs: $200-$800, Dealership replacements typically cost 20-50% more than locksmiths. Emergency/lockout service adds $50-$150.
Security Systems
Some systems reset by: 1) Disconnecting battery for 15+ minutes 2) Using original keys in specific sequences 3) Professional diagnostic reset. Consult your manual - procedures vary. Persistent issues may require dealer-level tools.
Key Fact: Modern transponder keys have been required in all new US vehicles since 1998
