Appreciate the tips—trying to unlock my Norton Classic key code too.

I think my Norton Classic has the same issue. Good to know I'm not alone.

My Norton Classic won’t start without that code. Following this closely.

Good luck to everyone dealing with Norton Classic key issues!

My Norton Classic has the same problem—any luck getting the key code?

Has anyone gotten this method to work on a Norton Classic before?

🔑 Car Key & Fob FAQ

Common questions about key programming, fob issues, and replacement options

Lost Keys
Dealerships can often cut keys using your VIN, but will require proof of ownership. This only works for original factory keys - aftermarket or previously replaced locks won't match. The key will still need programming to start the car if it has a transponder.
Key Tip: Always have at least two working keys to avoid expensive replacements
Security Systems
Not recommended. Bypassing requires specialized knowledge and may violate anti-theft laws. Proper solutions: 1) Get correctly programmed keys 2) Replace faulty immobilizer components 3) Have dealer reset the system if keys are lost.
Key Fob Issues
Common causes: dead battery (most common), water damage, internal circuit damage, or the fob lost synchronization with your car. Try replacing the battery first. If that doesn't help, the fob may need reprogramming or replacement.
Key Tip: Keep spare keys in a faraday bag to prevent signal amplification theft
Security Systems
Some systems reset by: 1) Disconnecting battery for 15+ minutes 2) Using original keys in specific sequences 3) Professional diagnostic reset. Consult your manual - procedures vary. Persistent issues may require dealer-level tools.
Key Programming
Common reasons: wrong key type for your vehicle, anti-theft system needs reset, low car battery voltage during programming, or the key isn't properly synced. Some cars also have programming limits (only 2-4 keys can be registered).
Key Fact: Modern transponder keys have been required in all new US vehicles since 1998
