Great info! Needed this for my old International 9200i.

Trying this on my International 9200i later. Will report back.

I tried this with my International 9200i but still no luck. Any suggestions?

I’ll try this and update how it goes with my International 9200i.

This just might solve my International 9200i's ignition issue.

Good luck to everyone dealing with International 9200i key issues!

🔑 Car Key & Fob FAQ

Common questions about key programming, fob issues, and replacement options

Lost Keys
1) Contact a locksmith who specializes in automotive keys or your dealership 2) Provide proof of ownership (registration, title, ID) 3) They'll either cut new keys by code or reprogram your car's system 4) This is expensive ($200-$800) as the immobilizer may need resetting.
Key Tip: Keep spare keys in a faraday bag to prevent signal amplification theft
Key Fob Issues
1) Find the seam and pry open the fob (some have tiny screws) 2) Note battery orientation 3) Remove old battery (CR2032 is most common) 4) Insert new battery 5) Reassemble. Test all buttons - if issues remain, the fob may need reprogramming.
Key Tip: Newer cars often require dealer programming for first key replacement
Key Programming
Some vehicles allow DIY key programming using specific sequences (like turning ignition on/off with original keys). However, most modern cars require specialized equipment only locksmiths or dealers have. Check your owner's manual for your specific model.
Key Fob Issues
This typically indicates: weak fob battery (replace first), damaged fob antenna, or issues with your car's receiver (often in the door handle or rearview mirror). Environmental interference from other electronics can also reduce range.
Key Tip: Newer cars often require dealer programming for first key replacement
Key Fact: Modern transponder keys have been required in all new US vehicles since 1998
