How can I retrieve my Chevrolet Camaro's key code to make a spare key?

I’m in the same boat with my Chevrolet Camaro. This looks promising.

Hope this method is better than the last one I tried on my Chevrolet Camaro.

Same issue here with my Chevrolet Camaro, let me know if it works.

Trying this out on my Chevrolet Camaro today—hoping it works.

Following this for my Chevrolet Camaro. Please update if it works!

🔑 Car Key & Fob FAQ

Common questions about key programming, fob issues, and replacement options

Security Systems
Some systems reset by: 1) Disconnecting battery for 15+ minutes 2) Using original keys in specific sequences 3) Professional diagnostic reset. Consult your manual - procedures vary. Persistent issues may require dealer-level tools.
Lost Keys
1) Contact a locksmith who specializes in automotive keys or your dealership 2) Provide proof of ownership (registration, title, ID) 3) They'll either cut new keys by code or reprogram your car's system 4) This is expensive ($200-$800) as the immobilizer may need resetting.
Key Tip: Consider key insurance for expensive smart keys
Key Fob Issues
1) Find the seam and pry open the fob (some have tiny screws) 2) Note battery orientation 3) Remove old battery (CR2032 is most common) 4) Insert new battery 5) Reassemble. Test all buttons - if issues remain, the fob may need reprogramming.
Key Tip: Keep spare keys in a faraday bag to prevent signal amplification theft
Key Fob Issues
1) Find the seam and pry open the fob (some have tiny screws) 2) Note battery orientation 3) Remove old battery (CR2032 is most common) 4) Insert new battery 5) Reassemble. Test all buttons - if issues remain, the fob may need reprogramming.
Lost Keys
Dealerships can often cut keys using your VIN, but will require proof of ownership. This only works for original factory keys - aftermarket or previously replaced locks won't match. The key will still need programming to start the car if it has a transponder.
Key Fact: Many cars can store up to 8 different key codes in memory
