My Audi TT 1800 16v TFSI just blinks. I think this might fix it.

Will this work if the Audi TT 1800 16v TFSI has an aftermarket alarm?

Was about to give up on my Audi TT 1800 16v TFSI, but this gives me hope.

Can confirm it worked for my 2013 Audi TT 1800 16v TFSI.

Anyone try this on a Audi TT 1800 16v TFSI with push-button start?

🔑 Car Key & Fob FAQ

Common questions about key programming, fob issues, and replacement options

Key Fob Issues
1) Find the seam and pry open the fob (some have tiny screws) 2) Note battery orientation 3) Remove old battery (CR2032 is most common) 4) Insert new battery 5) Reassemble. Test all buttons - if issues remain, the fob may need reprogramming.
Lost Keys
Dealerships can often cut keys using your VIN, but will require proof of ownership. This only works for original factory keys - aftermarket or previously replaced locks won't match. The key will still need programming to start the car if it has a transponder.
Key Tip: Keep spare keys in a faraday bag to prevent signal amplification theft
Cost & Options
Locksmiths are typically 30-50% cheaper than dealerships for key replacement and programming. However, some newer models (especially luxury brands) may require dealer-only programming tools. Always get quotes from both.
Key Fob Issues
Sometimes. Broken buttons can often be fixed by cleaning or replacing the button pad. Cracked cases can be glued. However, water damage or circuit board issues usually require complete fob replacement. Reprogramming is still needed for replacement fobs.
Key Tip: Newer cars often require dealer programming for first key replacement
Key Fob Issues

Key Fact: Key fob batteries typically last 3-4 years with normal use
