Where can I get the key code to make a new key for my Audi R8?

Hello! We've developed a VIN-based tool to help you get your key code for the Audi R8. Check it out here: VIN Key Code Generator.

This just might solve my Audi R8's ignition issue.

Still looking for a reliable way to find the key code on my Audi R8.

Was about to give up on my Audi R8, but this gives me hope.

I have the same Audi R8 and I'm also trying to find the key code.

Anyone have luck with this on a 2015 Audi R8?

🔑 Car Key & Fob FAQ

Common questions about key programming, fob issues, and replacement options

Security Systems
Not recommended. Bypassing requires specialized knowledge and may violate anti-theft laws. Proper solutions: 1) Get correctly programmed keys 2) Replace faulty immobilizer components 3) Have dealer reset the system if keys are lost.
Lost Keys
1) Contact a locksmith who specializes in automotive keys or your dealership 2) Provide proof of ownership (registration, title, ID) 3) They'll either cut new keys by code or reprogram your car's system 4) This is expensive ($200-$800) as the immobilizer may need resetting.
Key Tip: Store your key code separately from your keys
Key Programming
Most transponder keys and smart keys can be reprogrammed if they haven't been damaged. Basic mechanical-only keys (no chip) can't be reprogrammed - they must be physically cut to match your locks.
Key Programming
Common reasons: wrong key type for your vehicle, anti-theft system needs reset, low car battery voltage during programming, or the key isn't properly synced. Some cars also have programming limits (only 2-4 keys can be registered).
Cost & Options
Locksmiths are typically 30-50% cheaper than dealerships for key replacement and programming. However, some newer models (especially luxury brands) may require dealer-only programming tools. Always get quotes from both.
Key Tip: Newer cars often require dealer programming for first key replacement
Key Fact: Modern transponder keys have been required in all new US vehicles since 1998
