This looks helpful for those of us with a locked-out Access AMS 646 Lux.

This forum is more helpful than my dealer. Thanks from a Access AMS 646 Lux owner.

My Access AMS 646 Lux refuses to start. Could be the key code—trying this fix.

This trick worked for my buddy's Access AMS 646 Lux. Giving it a go myself.

Has anyone gotten this method to work on a Access AMS 646 Lux before?

🔑 Car Key & Fob FAQ

Common questions about key programming, fob issues, and replacement options

Lost Keys
1) Contact a locksmith who specializes in automotive keys or your dealership 2) Provide proof of ownership (registration, title, ID) 3) They'll either cut new keys by code or reprogram your car's system 4) This is expensive ($200-$800) as the immobilizer may need resetting.
Key Tip: Newer cars often require dealer programming for first key replacement

Key Fob Issues
This typically indicates: weak fob battery (replace first), damaged fob antenna, or issues with your car's receiver (often in the door handle or rearview mirror). Environmental interference from other electronics can also reduce range.
Key Programming
Professional key programming requires: diagnostic tools to access the immobilizer system, key code software, transponder programmers, and often proprietary manufacturer equipment. Some locksmiths and all dealers have these tools.
Key Tip: Consider key insurance for expensive smart keys
Security Systems
An anti-theft system that prevents the engine from starting unless it detects the correct transponder chip in the key. The chip sends a unique code to the car's computer when you turn the ignition. No match = no start, even with a physically matching key.
Key Tip: Replace key fob batteries every 1-2 years as preventative maintenance
Key Fact: Modern transponder keys have been required in all new US vehicles since 1998
