Where's the key code stored in a 2009 Toyota Reiz for making new keys?

Hello! We've developed a VIN-based tool to help you get your key code for the 2009 Toyota Reiz. Check it out here: VIN Key Code Generator.

Thanks for sharing! Been looking for a key code fix for my 2009 Toyota Reiz.

Dealer wants too much just to reset my 2009 Toyota Reiz. Trying this instead.

Worked on my cousin’s 2009 Toyota Reiz—might work for mine too.

🔑 Car Key & Fob FAQ

Common questions about key programming, fob issues, and replacement options

Key Fob Issues
1) Find the seam and pry open the fob (some have tiny screws) 2) Note battery orientation 3) Remove old battery (CR2032 is most common) 4) Insert new battery 5) Reassemble. Test all buttons - if issues remain, the fob may need reprogramming.
Lost Keys
Dealerships can often cut keys using your VIN, but will require proof of ownership. This only works for original factory keys - aftermarket or previously replaced locks won't match. The key will still need programming to start the car if it has a transponder.
Security Systems
Some systems reset by: 1) Disconnecting battery for 15+ minutes 2) Using original keys in specific sequences 3) Professional diagnostic reset. Consult your manual - procedures vary. Persistent issues may require dealer-level tools.
Key Tip: Store your key code separately from your keys
Security Systems
Not recommended. Bypassing requires specialized knowledge and may violate anti-theft laws. Proper solutions: 1) Get correctly programmed keys 2) Replace faulty immobilizer components 3) Have dealer reset the system if keys are lost.
Key Tip: Avoid exposing key fobs to water or extreme temperatures
Key Programming
Common reasons: wrong key type for your vehicle, anti-theft system needs reset, low car battery voltage during programming, or the key isn't properly synced. Some cars also have programming limits (only 2-4 keys can be registered).
Key Tip: Store your key code separately from your keys
Key Fact: Some insurance policies offer key replacement coverage
