I have the same 2006 Toyota Sequoia and I'm also trying to find the key code.

Great info! Needed this for my old 2006 Toyota Sequoia.

Appreciate any advice—my 2006 Toyota Sequoia won’t recognize the key.

This looks helpful for those of us with a locked-out 2006 Toyota Sequoia.

I think my 2006 Toyota Sequoia has the same issue. Good to know I'm not alone.

I really hope this trick works on my 2006 Toyota Sequoia.

🔑 Car Key & Fob FAQ

Common questions about key programming, fob issues, and replacement options

Key Programming
Common reasons: wrong key type for your vehicle, anti-theft system needs reset, low car battery voltage during programming, or the key isn't properly synced. Some cars also have programming limits (only 2-4 keys can be registered).
Lost Keys
Dealerships can often cut keys using your VIN, but will require proof of ownership. This only works for original factory keys - aftermarket or previously replaced locks won't match. The key will still need programming to start the car if it has a transponder.
Key Tip: Store your key code separately from your keys
Security Systems
A flashing security light often indicates an immobilizer issue. Solid light suggests the system is armed but not recognizing your key. Causes: faulty key chip, damaged antenna ring, low battery, or system needs reprogramming.
Key Programming
Programming syncs the key's transponder chip with your car's immobilizer system. The process varies by manufacturer but generally involves: 1) authenticating with the car's computer 2) erasing old keys if needed 3) programming new key codes 4) testing functionality.
Key Fob Issues
Sometimes. Broken buttons can often be fixed by cleaning or replacing the button pad. Cracked cases can be glued. However, water damage or circuit board issues usually require complete fob replacement. Reprogramming is still needed for replacement fobs.
Key Fact: Many cars can store up to 8 different key codes in memory
