Worked for someone with a 1991 Mercedes Benz 560SEC? Need to hear it!

Worked on my cousin’s 1991 Mercedes Benz 560SEC—might work for mine too.

Has anyone gotten this method to work on a 1991 Mercedes Benz 560SEC before?

My 1991 Mercedes Benz 560SEC won’t start without that code. Following this closely.

Hope I’m not too late to try this on my 1991 Mercedes Benz 560SEC.

This just might solve my 1991 Mercedes Benz 560SEC's ignition issue.

🔑 Car Key & Fob FAQ

Common questions about key programming, fob issues, and replacement options

Key Fob Issues
Sometimes. Broken buttons can often be fixed by cleaning or replacing the button pad. Cracked cases can be glued. However, water damage or circuit board issues usually require complete fob replacement. Reprogramming is still needed for replacement fobs.
Key Programming
Programming syncs the key's transponder chip with your car's immobilizer system. The process varies by manufacturer but generally involves: 1) authenticating with the car's computer 2) erasing old keys if needed 3) programming new key codes 4) testing functionality.
Lost Keys
Dealerships can often cut keys using your VIN, but will require proof of ownership. This only works for original factory keys - aftermarket or previously replaced locks won't match. The key will still need programming to start the car if it has a transponder.
Key Tip: Newer cars often require dealer programming for first key replacement
Key Programming
Professional key programming requires: diagnostic tools to access the immobilizer system, key code software, transponder programmers, and often proprietary manufacturer equipment. Some locksmiths and all dealers have these tools.
Key Tip: Always have at least two working keys to avoid expensive replacements
Lost Keys
Costs vary widely: Basic keys: $50-$150, Transponder keys: $150-$300, Smart keys/fobs: $200-$800, Dealership replacements typically cost 20-50% more than locksmiths. Emergency/lockout service adds $50-$150.
Key Fact: Key programming typically takes 15-30 minutes for professionals
